The Matas de Minas region is located in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Its main characteristic is the fact that all of its integrant cities are coffee producers and are located at high altitudes, from 600 to 1200 meters.

Today, approximately 24% of coffee production in the state of Minas Gerais comes from this region, cultivated by around 36 thousand producers. Of these, around 80% are small producers, with whom we have developed a relationship of partnership and respect with Carioca Coffees.

In addition to the high altitudes, other particularities make Matas de Minas special and influence the production of its coffee. Areas of mountainous and irregular topography covered by the Mata Atlantica biome, the territory’s mild climate and the technological evolution of artisanal processes developed in the region result in artisanal quality beans, with a variety of flavors and nuances that make the coffee that comes from here unique and unforgettable.
